Developing a holistically developed Filipino with 21st century skills is a shared responsibility by all stakeholders in contrast with the traditional concept of merely our role and task as teachers. However, I observed that there seems to be lacking. I’m referring to the support of most parents in mentoring their own children. Gone were the days that we claimed parents as our first teachers. Of course, I’m not generalizing. I acknowledge and commend some parents who still find quality time tutoring and having follow-ups with their offspring.
I praise the effort of the CCNHS administration in spearheading some professional development activities in our school such as the Gender and Awareness Development at the Heart of INSET and the like. For with these, I am continuously growing personally and professionally.
My only wish is that Araling Panlipunan teachers will be provided with technology/equipment so that we could better transmit and educate our learners in line with K to 12 concepts more effectively.
